REAL LEARNING BUILT AROUND DOING

A community and movement for parents, teachers, and school leaders who know kids learn better when the work actually means something.

The Problem

Most learning doesn't stick. Not because kids can't learn - but because what they're being asked to learn doesn't connect to anything real. You already know this. That's why you're here.

Learning only sticks when it's built around doing something real. This is what LRNT is built on. Not a theory. A practice. Tested with real kids, in real projects, at the highest levels of international competition.

The Belief

WHO THIS IS FOR

Homeschool parents who want more than a curriculum.

Teachers who know there's a better way.

School leaders ready to change the culture.

LRNT is parents pulling their kids out of a system that wasn't serving them. It's teachers staying late because they know there's more. It's school leaders brave enough to ask what education could look like if we built it differently.

All of us, united by the same belief.

This is your movement too.

I'm James. And traditional education failed me.

I don't say that with bitterness. I say it because it's true and because it's probably part of why you're here too.

I spent over 20 years in education. Classroom teacher. Head of Department. Designer. Now working in STEM education at the highest level of international motorsport. I've seen what learning looks like when it connects to something real and I've seen what it looks like when it doesn't.

The difference isn't ability. It isn't resources. It's relevance.

When a kid is building something that matters, something with a real outcome, a real audience, a real purpose, they don't switch off. They lean in. Every time.

LRNT exists because I needed a place to put everything I've learned about what actually works. Not a course. Not a curriculum. A framework. A community. A movement built on one belief:

Learning only sticks when it's built around doing something real.

If that resonates with you, you're in the right place.

The Movement

This is what we believe.

Learning should feel like something.

Real projects beat worksheets. Every time.

Kids don't have an engagement problem. They have a relevance problem.

The system isn't full of bad people. It's full of good people stuck in a structure that stopped working.

You don't need more content. You need better context.

Doing is the point. Always has been.

Share what you make. That's how it grows.

The Framework

Spark → Explore → Create → Try It → Share

Spark — Find the thing that lights them up. Start there.

Explore — Dig into it. Ask questions. Follow curiosity.

Create — Make something real. Something that didn't exist before.

Try It — Put it to the test. Fail if you need to. Adjust. Go again.

Share — Show the work. Inspire the next person.

I developed this framework in my own classroom; it’s been tested on hundreds of students to great success. My subject was the most popular GCSE option subject by some margin which proved how engaged my learners were and the value I was able to create around the learning.

Free parent starter pack

Three resources to help you build learning that actually sticks.

WHAT'S INSIDE

The Learning Handbook — A practical guide to the LRNT approach. What it is, why it works, and how to start using it today.

The Homeschooling Guide — Real, honest support for parents building education around their child, not a timetable.

The Project Pack — Ready-to-use project frameworks that give kids a real outcome to work towards.

You don't need another resource. You need people who get it. Join the community.

There are plenty of places to find worksheets. PDFs. Lesson plans. Frameworks dressed up as revolutions.

LRNT is something different.

It's a community of homeschool parents, teachers, and school leaders who are done waiting for permission to do things differently. People who are already trying and who want a place to think, share, and build alongside others doing the same.

WHAT YOU GET

Real conversations with people facing the same challenges you are.

Project ideas, frameworks, and approaches you can actually use.

Direct access to James - not through a help desk, through the community.

A place to share what you're making and see what others are building.

Learning only sticks when it's built around doing something real.

Come and do it with us.
